Old shop, new trade in Bilston, Wolverhampton

Hartills for Raleigh
The restored paintwork is a fine reminder of a local business. It lives on as a display at the Black Country Living Museum. The buildings themselves (but not the shops!) probably date from around 1800.

Caledonia House (4 Mount Pleasant)
Mid to late 18th century house. The decorative lintels (listed as "shaped fielded-panelled lintels with enriched keystones") and 16-pane sash windows are notable original features. The bay windows are a 19th century addition. Listed Grade II. Now in use as offices.

Buildings in Mount Pleasant, Bilston, Wolverhampton
This group in Bilston town centre dates from the middle to late 18th century and includes listed buildings. No 2 (The Chinese Takeaway) was originally a private town house. No 4 (Caledonia House) has ground floor bays added in the 19th century. The fine building on the corner in Wellington Road (No 1) is Ivy House, a fine early 19th century Georgian House.
