Lady Wulfrun mural - Wulfrun Centre
The ceramic mural was originally above the Cleveland Street entrance to the 1967 Shopping Centre. It appears to have been moved within the centre following its 1999-2000 refurbishment. Unfortunately the coloured mural has been vandalised by being painted over with white paint.

Rooflights over the Wulfrun Centre, Wolverhampton
Observed from the rooftop car park. Looking just south of west.
The Wulfrun and Mander shopping centres were opened in 1968, and roof lights were placed across the walkways in the 1990s, totally enclosing the shopping area. Despite this and other modernisations, the recent recession and "credit crunch" have resulted in many shop units now being unoccupied. Wolverhampton has not kept up with "state-of-the-art" shopping, despite the upgrading to city status in 2001. The almost derelict state of some adjacent properties (caused by repeated delays in the Summer Row city regeneration project) has not helped. Many people shop elsewhere.
