This is where traffic is waiting to turn right off the Wednesfield Road and into Sun Street, in which is the North West Midlands Mail Centre, the probable destination of the red Royal Mail delivery van. This image was made with telephoto assistance to emphasise the high rise flats in the Long Ley vicinity of Heath Town, about half a mile distant. Compare this with: Image]

Wednesfield Road and Heath Town tower blocks, Wolverhampton
The image has been taken from the corner of Sun Street, looking roughly north-east along the A4124 towards Wednesfield. Optical foreshortening by the telephoto lens setting makes the high rise tower blocks in Heath Town appear closer than their 800-900 metre (half mile plus) distance. So many of the 1960s high rise blocks of flats have now been demolished in Wolverhampton that one wonders for how long scenes such as this will remain.
