Kissing gate beside college grounds
Since first walking the paths from St Peters up here many stiles and gates have been upgraded to these very smart and dog friendly galvanised kissing gates . The path here used to go straight on to the London road a small diversion right and left has given the college for the blind a playing field .

MEB hut
A remnant of the old MEB training school based in Whittington Hall and now replaced by a big new complex of offices . Beside the footpath there are the remains of the space where trenches were dug and cables laid again and again , in the grounds beyond were examples of poles and pylons for practice rigging.The College for the Blind is on the skyline.

The sign states these are the Whittington MEB works - a reference to the former Midlands Electricity Board training facility that was nearby but is no more.
