The Gun Tavern, 39 Newtown Road, Worcester
A large public house which dates from 1936 and was designed by Alfred Parker. There is a carved cannon above the doorway but at present it is partially obscured by bunting.

This public house periodically closes and then re-opens. I am nervous about photographing pubs with people outside (Geograph-ers excepted) but the coast was clear so I banged off a quick shot.

Turnpike House Medical Centre
A Primary Care Trust PFI surgery that is home to two practices relocated from elsewhere in the city. The building is apparently not being used to capacity, which is not too surprising as it's almost a small hospital. Some local doctors refer to it as the "gin palace".
