Worcestershire Royal Hospital - car park improvements
The hospital accommodation blocks are seen across a patch of rough ground that is being upgraded as a car park for the Health and Care Trust. It had served in its unimproved form for several years and I do wonder if this work is really necessary given budgetary constraints (just my opinion).

Worcestershire Health and Care Trust - the Elgar Unit
This is a psychiatric hospital with secure facilities (at least when the gate is closed)! The building on the right is the emergency generator house but it does look a bit rough these days.

Worcester Mental Health Trust - emergency generator
I presume this is still operational although the building is shabby. I do hear some of the main site's generators being tested but I don't often wander this way. The fence to the left is anti-climb fencing.

Worcestershire Royal Hospital - demolition site
This three storey office building had been empty for several years and was finally demolished in the first quarter of 2018. This is a view of an early stage of demolition. Where it stood is now being used (February 2019) as a car park and as a contractor's compound for some refurbishment work in Aconbury North/Wulstan Unit.

Worcestershire Royal Hospital - Danger Keep Out
This looks surprisingly peaceful but demolition was in full swing out of sight to the left. Over the last year keep out signs have proliferated as things are knocked, down, built or refurbished across the hospital site. I have managed to record much of this activity but missed the big crane lifts on the new link bridge.

Worcestershire Royal Hospital
This old building on the former Newtown Hospital site was being used for various administration functions - clinical governance, professional development and cancer services. It was later vacated and abandoned. Now it would appear that it will be demolished in early 2018. The word is that the space will be used for car parking. I will attempt to get some shots of the demolition so I can demonstrate before and after.
