These premises were formerly Hylton's Nissan dealership. When this photograph was taken the premises had been purchased by Motorline Hyundai, who were about to move their Hyundai dealership from the village of Hallow to here. There are a lot of car dealerships in the Bromyard Road area.

George VI postbox outside 164 Bromyard Road, St. John's, Worcester
Located outside the Nisa Local convenience store in Bromyard Road. It dates from the reign of King George VI so probably was installed during that period (1936-1952). The bottom of the box indicates it was manufactured by McDowall Steven of London & Exeter. The ground underneath appears to have subsided a little as the box has a slight tilt to the left.
Postbox number: WR2 328. Post code: WR2 5EE. Last collection: 4 p.m. Monday to Friday; 11.30 a.m. Saturday.

End of a rat run
I think the council may well have blocked this part of the road off to stop motorists using it as a rat run to get to the ring road.
