The band takes a breather, Cripplegate Park, Worcester
The building on the left is the Sons of Rest Pavilion. The Sons of Rest is a charitable organisation that started in Birmingham in 1927 to promote social and leisure activities for men over the age of 60. The local branch here is dual-gender and is an active participant in the life of the park.

A little woodland in the roundabout
This delightful park has manicured bowling greens, tennis courts and still has room for a wooded corner with equipment for climbing and sliding; it's just a pity that the road surrounds it and cuts it off from the river and the cricket ground next door.

Worcester - Pear
Cripplegate Park has a six feet tall pear steel sculpture, presumably with stylised pear leaves forming the shape, and made by Planet Art. Worcestershire has many fruit orchards and is a centre for perry production.

Fountain, Cripplegate Park, Worcester
A lovely cast iron fountain in a park of Worcester I had never looked at before, despite driving past regularly. You see so much more on foot.
