Victorian Malvern from Prospect Point
The large detached houses of Priory Road, Abbey Road and College Road were built in Victorian times when Malvern was expanding from a small village into a busy Water Cure town. Much of the land was under the control of Lady Foley who, when she eventually gave in to the pressure of the developers, laid down a raft of planning requirements including : each property to be in no less than one acre; no house to overlook another; no houses to look alike.

St Edmund's Hall, Malvern College
Now St Edmund's Hall and part of Malvern College; it was built in 1905 as a Roman Catholic church dedicated to Our Lady and St Edmund. The church was designed by Peter Paul Pugin, and after his death in 1904 was completed by his cousin, Cuthbert Welby Pugin. Originally it was to house a monastic community; it closed as a church in 1996 and was bought by Malvern College and is known by staff and pupils of the school as 'the Monastery'.
