Williamson and Sons building, Charles Street
This building was formerly that of Williamson and Sons founded in 1858 which was founded by William Blizzard Williamson. This building which stands on Charles Street is now offices for Onside Independent Advocacy. The two storey building was built in 1893, it is red brick with terracotta dressing, it is probably by JH Williams. The original company with its name on the front of the building was founded as a sheet metal works in Providence Street; it was called the Providence Works (possibly on the site of the redundant former BT building, behind the photographer). The company which began small, grew from this base and evolved to become part of an amalgamation of many other UK firms and became Metal Box who had a factory at nearby Perry Wood in Worcester. The company made up to two million open top cans a day to carry various goods such as: vegetables, fruit, beer, beefsteak, puddings and dairy cream. During the Great War (World War I) the company produced, Aircraft parts, Ammunition, Tank parts, and Tobacco tins.

Former BT building in Worcester
The comparatively modern building used to be occupied by BT, I am not sure is it is currently in use. View here from Foundry Street. I think the two BT vehicles in the foreground are coincidental.

Switching centre, Foundry Street, Worcester
An elephantine BT complex, built c1970 by the Renton Howard Wood Partnership. It's pretty neat, in brick and bronze cladding, relentless piers all the way down until you hit three oriels.
