Gordon Russell Design Museum
The Gordon Russell Design Museum stands of the site of the former Gordon Russell factory on Broadway. Gordon Russell's father, Sydney bought the Lygon Arms in 1904. Gordon began repairing some of the hotel's furniture, influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement he began manufacturing before the First World War. During the Second World War he developed utility furniture as Chairman of the government's Utility Furniture Design Panel.
