Black Pear shield on Foregate railway bridge
Showing three Worcester Black Pears.
It is said that Queen Elizabeth I saw the tree in foregate when she processed through the city on a visit in 1575 and asked that the pear be added to the city's coat of arms.

58-60 Foregate Street, Worcester
Five-bay nos. 59-60 (occupied by estate agents Andrew Grant) is late C18th, no. 58 "convincing early neo-Georgian by J.H. Williams, 1902". Grade II listed.
The decorative aspects of the railway bridge, c1860, belong to alterations of 1908-09. Foregate Street station is immediately to the right. Grade II listed.
