Ashton under Hill: the post office
This attractive thatched cottage was once the village shop but still houses the post office, which operates normal full-time hours. There is a disused postbox set into the wall at the top of the steps ahead of us, while the post office is at the left-hand end (with lights on). The counter can just be glimpsed from here, through the door.
