Opened in 1904 by the Great Western Railway on the line from Birmingham Shrub Hill to Cheltenham, this station closed in 1960. View north east towards the former Pebworth Halt and Birmingham. Once were trains [4]
The B4035 is carried on a bridge over long dismantled GWR railway line from Cheltenham to Birmingham via Honeybourne. Built in the early years of the twentieth century (1900-1906) the line closed to passengers in 1968 and to freight in 1976. The line is proposed to be re-opened as far as Honeybourne by the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway in the not too distant future. Indeed, included in the redoubling of the London to Worcester line is a platform at Honeybourne for the GWR trains. This view along the trackbed is looking north east towards Honeybourne and this is where Weston-sub-Edge station once was.
