Crimean War Cannon at the Almonry Museum
This cannon, displayed in the garden at the back of the Almonry, is plated 'Captured 1855 at Sevastopol'. It was cast at St Petersburg and presented to Evesham in 1856. According to the adjacent information board it 'is believed capable of hurling a ball 2,300 yards with a 14lb ball of powder'. Presumably nobody has tested this out in recent times.
