Buses in Evesham bus station
Well, perhaps "bus station" is a rather grand term. It is described as such in timetables, but in reality it is merely a few bus shelters on either side of High Street (which does at least mean that it is better situated than many bus stations). The bus in the foreground, a Dennis Dart SLF/Plaxton Pointer, has just arrived from Worcester; if memory serves I deduced from internal advertisements that it had recently been transferred to Worcester from Aberdeen, hence the lack of destination display. The Alexander Dennis Enviro 300 behind it is operating the 247 to Redditch.

The Old Swanne Inne, Evesham
It would be easy to assume that the spelling of this pub is a ridiculous affectation dreamt up by someone in a marketing department after a boozy lunchtime. In fact the 'Swanne Inne' was first recorded in 1586 although by 1650 the modern spelling was being used. It has not been in continuous use as a pub since then and in more recent times it followed the fashion of giving pubs short-lived forgettable names but the old name was readopted by Wetherspoons when the company took it over.
