The Anchor Inn and Restaurant sign, Cotheridge Lane
Unusually the inn has two signs, which appear to be identical, and both are rather faded. At the top it says "Anchor Inn Restaurant & Bar Foods". Ansells Ales used to be one of the glories of the west midlands, but the brewery at Aston, Birmingham, closed in 1981. They are still brewed by Carlsberg-Tetley, but not locally, and these days the Tetley branded beers seem to be the ones that get promoted. Image

Yew Tree Cottage, Jarvis Street, Eckington
A 17th century timber framed thatched cottage with a stone gable at the road end. Listed Grade II. For some reason Google Street View did not venture past this building and it is blurred out in the distance at the point of closest approach. This view is from the public highway and I can see no reason for not posting.
