Former Barclays Bank
A fine late 18th century building on Bridge Street with an impressive doorway and fanlight. This was a town house known as Laughern House until it became a bank Image in 1929. After 80 years as a bank it appears to have returned to a residential dwelling. Pershore Plum Fayre Day 2012 (2) - Town Crier outside the Angel Inn & Posting House
The gentleman in the splendid outfit is Pershore's Town Crier, Robert Speight. He has been in office since 2009, when the post was created, or more likely recreated, as no doubt there was one in earlier times to make announcements when most people could not read and write.
