Two mills that are somewhat run down and were part of the Eckersley's complex.
The nearer chimney appears to have lost its top. No idea how bad it all looks after another 20 years or so.

Western Mills, wigan - dining halls
The men's and women's dining hall. The door behind the red car is for the men's dining hall. The women's entrance is down on the right in the distance. Discovering segregated dining was such a surprise that I felt it must be recorded.

This large complex has both Men's and women's dining halls. These are now used as a roller skating rink. The elegance of the complex is all rather faded, just like this once magnificent lintel.

Western Mills, Wigan
According to Flickr this is No. 3 Mill of 1899 and built for ring spinning of cotton. The engine house would have held an inverted vertical engine and the boiler house is to the left. The chimney has obviously been shortened. There is a flock of birds flying past (not dirt).
