In the grounds of South Kirkby Town Hall
The carving of an owl and butterflies - using the trunk of a dying tree - was completed very recently judging by the sawdust and wood chippings that surround it.

Statue of a coal miner in South Kirkby
Created by a relatively famous local sculptor called Graham Ibberson and unveiled in 2005 to commemorate the local men who lost their lives for coal. In a hundred years at least 250 died at South Kirkby, Frickley and South Elmsall Collieries - also includes Riddings Drift Mines.
