30 East Drive Chequerfield Estate, Pontefract
Since the 1970s, the red-brick semi at 30 East Drive on Pontefract’s Chequerfield Estate has been a place of fascination and fear. Locals know it as the home where the Pritchard family was terrorised by the angry spirit of a 16th-Century monk. And to the steady stream of ghost-hunters who make the pilgrimage to the West Yorkshire town, it is the site of “the most violent poltergeist haunting in Europe”.
