Warden's Bungalow
Rhyddings Drive consists of bungalows built by the local authority for pensioners. #32 was (possibly still is) the warden's bungalow. My mother was the first "old people's warden". The warden's job was to keep in contact with the other residents via an intercom system and offer assistance in case of emergencies. In 1966 the drive was a cul-de-sac but it has since been extended with more bungalows and now connects with each end of Rhyddings Avenue.
