Ackworth War Memorial
Ackworth War Memorial was constructed as a Millennium Project by the people of Ackworth and is situated on the South Western edge of the Ackworth Moor Top roundabout. This view is from the rear, looking towards the North East, with the Beverley Arms Public House and Restaurant just partly visible in the background across the roundabout.

Recycling
The good people of Ackworth take recycling seriously as everything has to be taken to this site. Wakefield MDC have not yet introduced a recycling scheme in this area.

Chiltern Drive
A street consisting mainly of local-authority-owned, warden-controlled bungalows for housing elderly persons - commonly referred to as "owd-folk's bungalows". At the end of Hawthorn Grove is a group of flats which includes the warden's residence.

Guide stoop at Ackworth, looking north
This guide stoop was probably erected in the eighteenth century. The law required that the next market town be shown, but there was little standardization so in this case the places mentioned appear to be behind the viewer. This means that this is either not the original site, or that users were expected to understand the strange orientation.

Old Milestone by the A628, Ackworth Moor Top
Metal plate attached to stone post by the A628, in parish of WAKEFIELD (WAKEFIELD District), Ackworth Moor Top, just North of roundabout junction with A638, on the verge next to bus stop, on West side of road. Barnsley/Pontefract, Grove Foundry iron casting, erected by the County Council in the 19th/20th century.
Inscription reads:-
