Fish and chip shop in Grange Moor
On Briestfield Road. The lady behind the counter asked me if I wanted "bits" with my chips. We call them "scraps" in East Yorkshire. I doubt that they would count as one of our vital "five a day"!

The Dumb Steeple at Grange Moor
Rebuilt in 1766, the purpose of this stone edifice is uncertain. Some view it as a folly that may in past times have been visible from the surrounding countryside - before houses got in the way. Others suggest it marks a spot which had significance as a place of worship in pre-Christian times. Whatever its purpose, it is not the only "dumb steeple" in West Yorkshire.
