Site of tramroad crossing, Lawefield Lane
Smithson's Tramroad crossed what was then called Chapel Lane here. I am not sure if the stone wall or the wooden fence blocks the actual route, one or the other.

Pavement following the route of Smithson's Tramroad
The tramroad opened in 1798 and this section closed between 1850 and 1888. But the boundary wall follows the route of the tramroad almost exactly.
