Where's the footpath then?
The signpost and marker post both show a footpath, but judging by the vegetation it hadn't been used recently. The map shows it leaves Bradford Road here, under the power lines, then soon bends to the right to head to Lawns Lane.

The wide road to nowhere
Before the M1 was built in the late 1960's, this section of Bradford Road carried the A650. A motorway junction was built slightly to the south and the A650 re-routed, leaving this wide road leading to nowhere but the Carr Gate Garden Centre on the left.

Carr Gate Nurseries
A weekend caravan rally at Carr Gate Nurseries. It rained heavily and the field was so muddy that most of the caravans had to be towed off by 4WD vehicles.
