As far as I can tell from old OS maps, this land has never been built on, despite being very close to the city centre.

Contrasting housing east of the railway line, Wakefield
All are blocks of three-storey houses. The ones at the bottom of the hill are probably 50 years old and have front and back doors and walled back gardens. The nearer ones are less than five years old and only have front doors.
