Commercial premises, Nutter Lane, Birstall
This is the site of the former Birkenshaw sewage works. There was no sign to indicate what the current use of the site is.

The Bronte Way heading towards Oakwell Hall
The hall is concealed amongst the trees. It features as "Fieldhead" in the novel Shirley by Charlotte Bronte, thus it is natural that this themed long distance footpath should pay a visit to the ancient building.
