Takeaways in Brunswick Street although the postal addresses appear to be in Tavern Street, which runs behind the building. This may have been a tavern or similar in the past. The road running along the side is Monk Street.

The name implies there was a tavern or similar in the vicinity. Quite possibly it was the building on the left, or a now demolished building. Everything else looks too modern. Photographed from Monk Street.

This City Trail information board in Monk Street has been so badly vandalised it is virtually unreadable.

Judging by a photo I found on Flickr, this vehicle has been parked here for at least three years, though the painting of (presumably) Jimi Hendrix on the side is a more recent addition. The bus, C673 LJR, is an example of the latter day standard bus of the National Bus Company, a Leyland Olympian with lowheight bodywork by Eastern Coachworks; however, being new to Northern General, this bus differed from the NBC norm in being fitted (as all of Northern's later Olympians were, I believe) with a Cummins L10 engine and Voith automatic gearbox. Even if those items are still present, the bus does not look particularly mobile.

This former public house was well-known for being a live music venue. An old double-deck bus, parked alongside, was used as overnight accommodation for band members. The pub dated from the 1960's and in the past has been known as Poste Haste and the Freedom Bar. The last landlord has relocated the business to 8 King Street Wakefield, where it is known as The Snooty Fox Club. As for 1 Brunswick Street, it appears to be one of the Council's regeneration projects and is currently undergoing work.
