Progress
On the south side of Burton Street previously stood some grade II listed buildings, 15-17 and 19-21. Image These buildings have been demolished to make way for the Emerald ring road, part of the Westgate regeneration scheme. Strangely, they are still listed in the latest Wakefield MDC listed buildings publication, (Nov 2008), and the Heritage Gateway site.

Cliff Field House, Burton Street, Wakefield
A late Georgian or early Victorian villa with a Tuscan doorcase, which the listing states might be C20th. Grade II listed.
Now incorporated into a modern housing development.

Cliff Field House, Burton Street
Cliff Field House, is a grade II listed building. It was built in 1820 for woolstapler William Tomlinson. It has now been incorporated with St. Christopher's Walk, (not yet shown on street maps), containing the newly built Bishopsgate apartments.
