Signpost
These signposts can be found all over the town centre. (Note the Fleur-de-lis of Wakefield on top). This one is at the junction of Cliff Parade and Burton Street. See Image A laburnum tree in full flower provides the backdrop.

Bank House
Bank House - 1 Burton Street. It is not known when the house was built, but it has Georgian features, which probably dates it to between 1790 and 1830. In the early 1800s, it was used as the premises for Wakefield Savings Bank, until 1892, when it belonged to Edward Lodge, a private resident. From 1904, it became a solicitors office for Dixon and Horn, later Dixon, Coles and Gill. It is a Grade II Listed building.

Town Hall Chambers
Located at the top of King Street, opposite Tammy Hall. It was purpose built in 1863 as a Probate Office, and is a grade II listed building. It is currently undergoing conversion into apartments.

Motor garage, Cliff Parade, Wakefield
A sign on the front reads "WMDC Garage" (the acronym presumably being for Wakefield Metropolitan District Council). It is still used as a garage - I saw a car being driven out of it before getting close enough to take the photo - but now belongs to Fleet Taxis.

This is where the Mayor's official car is stabled. It's not clear whether the building was purpose built for this use.
