Blue Plaque, Cliff Parade, Wakefield
This is on a building which is now part of the Magistrates Court. The Blue Plaque tells us "This building is the surviving part of the Tammy (cloth) Hall opened in 1777. In 1878 it became the borough's fire and police station, as the carvings show".
The carved head of a policeman or fireman can be seen above the door in Image] with the blue plaque to the left of the door.

Town Hall Chambers
Located at the top of King Street, opposite Tammy Hall. It was purpose built in 1863 as a Probate Office, and is a grade II listed building. It is currently undergoing conversion into apartments.

Tammy Hall
Tammy Hall, a large grade II listed building erected for the sale of a special locally produced worsted cloth in the 1770’s. LBS No. 441739
After various other users in the mid nineteenth century, the building was purchased by the Corporation in 1876 and was altered and refaced to provide a Borough Police Station and Fire Station. It is now part of the Magistrates Court. Image
