Red Bar & Bistro
Red Bar, in George and Crown Yard, has recently been presented with a design award from Wakefield Civic Society. The judges liked the way that the old warehouse had been brought back into use, while retaining some of the character and features of the original building.

The Black Swan
This Grade II listed medieval jettied building was originally the Black Swan. Shops now occupy the Silver Street frontage, but the pub is still operating in the rear of the building. Note the clever play on words on the florists shop name.

Barclays Bank
Barclays Bank was originally owned by the local banking firm of Leatham Tew & Co. who amalgamated with Barclays in 1906. The date stone shows 1809, when Leatham Tew first offered banking services in Wakefield, and 1881 when the featured building was built. Their company logo is shown below the datestone, LT&Co. Image

Elliott's Bar
Located in George and Crown Yard, Elliott’s is a cosy little bar that only serves foreign beers on draft. (Note the old style dustbins being used as planters).
