The Edge, Westgate, Wakefield
The hair salon occupies two buildings. The lower one to the right (101-103 Westgate) is 18th century and listed grade II (list entry 1273155), while the 3-storey building to the left is unlisted, but of architectural interest for the carved stone heads above the doors and most of the windows (mainly human heads, but a ram's head above the right hand door).

Elephant and Castle, Westgate
A fine example, built 1894, of the exuberant use of terracotta and faience favoured by many breweries around 1900. One of just 3 pubs in Wakefield owned by the Warwick & Co. brewery, which later became part of John Smith’s Tadcaster Brewery.
