This is signed as a public footpath, but only as far as the old St Andrew's churchyard. The church itself was demolished in 1952.

Sewage works off Kirkhaw Lane
The brick structure to the right is shown as a sewage works of Pontefract Urban District Council on the 1907 map. Amazingly it's still here, though presumably not in use as the one to the left (behind the skip) is a sewage pumping station Image

Road junction and railway bridge, Ferrybridge
To the right out of view are the former toll house and the fine stone bridge that is now for pedestrians only. The view is dominated by Ferrybridge C Power Station that is in the next square east. Some of the cooling towers, the two main chimneys, the gas turbine stacks, the pilot plant carbon capture kit and part of the flue gas desulphurisation plant are visible. We all take it for granted that the lights come on at the flick of a switch but there is massive infrastructure behind that everyday occurrence.
