Castleford Bridge
The bicentenary of the bridge is being celebrated in 2008, it having been built by Jesse Hartley (who also built some of the docks in Liverpool) to replace a medieval seven-arched bridge. The white office block and the chimney are the Nestlé factory on Wheldon Road. It is just possible to see a cormorant perched close by the white geese in the middle distance.
Four grid squares intersect on the bridge, but the majority of it lies in SE4226.
