Ancient sweet chestnut tree
A 350-year-old sweet chestnut tree hidden in the depths of Chipperfield woods. One of several in the woods which are descendants of trees originally planted "for the delight of Isabel of Castile". Isabel of Castile (1355 – 1392) was the first Duchess of York, the wife of Edmund Langley who lived in the nearby Royal Palace of Kings Langley.

The Windmill Pub, Chipperfield
Situated in The Common WD4 9BU, this pub is believed to have dated from about 1725 and was once an alehouse for the employees of the nearby windmill, which is now no more. Since then it has absorbed three adjacent cottages and now serves food and drink daily.
