36-38 King Street
Three Georgian houses, no. 36 mid C18th and no. 38 (Africa Centre) built in 1773-74, possibly for auctioneers Messrs Stevens. Grade II listed. No. 37, in the middle, was built in 1773-74 for a lawyer, John Lane, to the design of James Paine. "It is the least altered of his London town houses" (Peter Leach). Paine was awfully fond of pediments. Grade II* listed.
