Detail of Royal Opera House, Bow Street
A pair of dwarf pilasters crowned by garlanded urns. The building history is complicated; this belongs to the fly tower which dates only from the 1980s but was built in keeping with E.M. Barry's main building of the 1850s. The sky portended rain but did not deliver.

St.Paul's church
St.Paul's Covent Garden, known as "The Actor's church" because of the long association with the theatre community. Built by Inigo Jones in 1633, a grand Tuscan portico faces the market piazza http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1283524 but the main entrance is at the west front from the garden court
