New Street bridge, Lea Green railway station
Seen along the line from the station, in the direction of St. Helens, is another one of the two old sandstone bridges which appear to be of a similar vintage to the one which Stephenson built at Rainhill.

The access to the church & churchyard from New Street Sutton. To the right of the picture is the main railway line from Liverpool to Manchester the Rainhill Trials was run there many years ago which the famous Rocket Steam Engine won.
