Widnes Community Support Centre
Originally opened in 1899 as the town's Poor Relief Hall, after renovation it was reopened in 1990 as the Widnes Community Support Centre. There seems no indication what the present work is turning it into.

Vicarage Road, Widnes
This road, at the quiet southern end of Widnes town centre, is one of the town's two main bus interchanges. Unfortunately, when I visited, the bus shelters pictured lacked any information regarding which one was for which service, and which services loaded round the corner.

Passing the Town Hall, Widnes ? 1973
The Town Hall is actually behind the photographer, the building behind the bus being the Technical College. The lawns and flower beds in the foreground have been replaced by a large paved open space with no particular features.
Widnes Corporation bus 37, is a 1963 Leyland Titan PD2 with East Lancs bodywork.

St Marie's RC Church, Lugsdale Road, Widnes
St Marie's RC Church in Lugsdale Road, Widnes is of such special architectural interest, it was listed as a Grade II building by the Secretary of State, weeks before it faced the bulldozers in 2006. The Victoria Society campaigns to save Victorian and Edwardian buildings of architectural importance and the Pugin-designed church has been placed on a national list of 10 endangered buildings.
