The northern portal of Preston Brook Tunnel
This is the northern end of the Trent and Mersey canal and the start of the Bridgewater canal. The tunnel is too narrow for two boats to pass so a one-way system is in operation.

North portal of the Preston Brook Tunnel
The tunnel is 1133 metres long and was completed in 1775. It marks the start of the Trent & Mersey Canal.
