Fiddlers Ferry Power Station, on the other side of the Mersey, looms beyond this nature reserve, partially formed with spoil from the digging of the Manchester Ship Canal in front it.

Track beside Manchester Ship Canal near Stonedelph Dock
There appears to be no restrictions from stopping you walking along this track from Wigg Island to Moore Nature Reserve although there is a secure gate which looks to have been not closed for a long time at SJ551843.
