The Carers' Trust building covers the Borough of Halton in Cheshire, which consists of the towns of Runcorn and Widnes and the civil parishes of Hale, Daresbury, Moore, Preston Brook, Halebank and Sandymoor. The borough straddles the River Mersey. Runcorn is on the south side of the Mersey. The area north of the river (including Widnes) was formerly part of Lancashire.
