Cormorant ascending, Sankey Canal
This cormorant took off and landed, took off and landed, every time I caught up with him while cycling to work along the towpath. In the end I took his picture as it was obviously what he wanted.

Renewable Energy and Fossil Fuel
A wind pump supplies electricity in small quantities for a specific, local job whilst the pylon in the background carries electricity generated from the burning of fossil fuel at Fiddler's Ferry power station nearby. Taken looking north from SJ575871

River Mersey panorama
This is a panoramic view of the River Mersey taken from SJ 57343 86966. Due east can be seen the local sewage works that straddles SJ 58 86 and SJ 58 87. Due south you can just make out the tower of Daresbury Laboratory some 14km in the distance.
