The Gentlemen of Moore R.U.F.C
Although the name gives the impression of a well established club with a lot of history, the Gentlemen of Moore R.U.F.C was only founded in November 1968, when a group of like minded people gathered in the Red Lion pub in Moore and decided to form a club. Early games were always played 'away' on a Sunday, as this pitch in Moss Lane had not yet been obtained. The first game was against Warrington Vikings.
