Freight train passing Daresbury Junction ? 1967
Double-headed by two unidentifiable BR Standard Class 9F locomotives. This is the former Birkenhead Joint Railway line from Chester to Warrington. The junction is a relic of the realignment of the railway when the Manchester Ship Canal was built. A short section of the old alignment, branching to the left, was retained to serve as refuge sidings.
