Hare and Hounds, Lowton
The Hare and Hounds public house at the corner of Golborne Road and Stone Cross Lane.
This pleasant looking pub, formerly old holding cells for prisoners, dates back to the 17th Century ( http://notwol2.webs.com/publichouses.htm - "A Piece of Lowton History").

June 2007 reported to be closing down in the near future the third Methodist Church to close in Golborne in recent years.

Former Primitive Methodist Church, Golborne
The Primitive Methodist Church, on Lowton Road in Golborne, was built in 1900. It was built in front of the old church dating from 1869. There are four commemorative stones in the brickwork, bearing the date July 7th, 1900.
The church was closed in 2007.
