Over Knutsford War Memorial
War memorial in the form of a Latin cross on a stepped base which stands in a small raised garden overlooking the main road, some 60 metres to the south-east of the Church of St Cross. The inscription on the front face reads:
IN GRATEFUL REMEMBRANCE
OF THE MEN
CONNECTED WITH THIS PARISH
WHO DIED
FOR FREEDOM AND HONOUR
IN THE GREAT WAR
1914-1918
THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE
The names of the 47 men who died in The Great War are recorded on the two side faces (list of names https://www.iwm.org.uk/memorials/item/memorial/10008 Imperial War Museum).
