Hale Station
Hale's historic Grade 2 listed station is at the centre of the village. It is on the former Cheshire Midland (Midland Railway, Cheshire Lines Committee) line between Altrincham and Chester. Opened in 1862 as 'Bowdon Peel Causeway', it was renamed 'Peel Causeway' in 1899 and 'Hale' in 1902. This http://www.igg.org.uk/gansg/00-app-5/app5a.htm gives a potted history of the station together with several photographs and detailed track plans for railway modellers.
